Pretty in Purple

Crocus Morning:

Photobucket

Don't they look cold? There's a thin film of frost on them.

I want flowers! I've never had a garden before, so I'm frantic to get it going.
And by "it" I mean learning how to garden.

Lucky you ... it's almost time to start!

And these little beauties show up every year without my lifting a finger. Bulbs are a GREAT way to garden.

I'm so glad I was around to admire them yesterday. I guess most of the time I'm at work while they're blooming away unnoticed.

Beautiful picture!

My yard has been white for months but some weird green stuff is under the trampoline. Have any idea what it may be?

I've just been waiting to see some of your springtime flower photos! I live vicariously through them. But the weather has been so upside down here we're getting spring flowers too, snowdrops and so on.

Oh! I am SOOOOOO jealous. We still have about 3 feet of snow and at LEAST another full month of winter before it starts to melt. Boo hoo.

BEAUTIFUL photos.

I don't think I could live somewhere that wintry. You're not from Vermont, originally, are you?

Oh! How beautiful! But I have to admit, now I'm torn between wishing for spring and hoping for another few feet of snow before it all melts. I don't feel like I've had enough winter fun yet.

I don't know you...
was scrolling through the lovely Cynthia Lord's friends' list, but I have to comment... THESE IMAGES ARE STUNNING!!!!

Thank you for the breath of color and life-- it's been a long, cold (and beautiful, I concede) winter in Maine!

Re: I don't know you...
Thank you!

I appreciate your artist's eye finding my photos appealing.

:-)

P.S. I'm kind of proud of my tulip photo, too, in my icon.

Re: I don't know you...
It IS lovely, Not as striking perhaps because of it's size, and I'm wicked partial to purple and deep blues. The rime on the crocus is just luscious. The whole quality if you glance at it has a surreal feeling to it, when I recognized the fallen oak leaves and the frosted flowers I could taste the nip in the air. Breathtaking.
