Born to eat breakfast in bed

I think this was the first Mother's Day where I actually received breakfast in bed, sitting up self-consciously with the fold-out tray before me: one fried egg (over-hard), turkey bacon, toast with blackberry jam, and a cup of Kona coffee. Ahhh ...

More correctly, perhaps my husband was born to SERVE breakfast in bed. He excelled at the task! I shared my toast with my Hubs and my boy, and we giggled and dropped crumbs in the bed. I was relieved when I finished, and could get out of bed. I think I may have been flashing back to Mrs. Plumber - that lady in Harriet the Spy who stayed in bed all the time, until the doctor told her she was confined to bed. At which point she got up and never lay down again.
