And I love my wild wisteria right now. Every year it threatens to take over the world. Then I go after it with the pruners and tame it temporarily.

Those colors are gorgeous! I haven't seen that kind of purple anywhere here.

My forsythia is the same way -- very unruly and beautiful that needs to be aggressively pruned after it's done blooming.

Aren't wisterias tough to grow? Tempremental? Or maybe just on the East.

Lucky you!

I understand wisterias take a few years to get going ... then look out! They don't seem to mind winter ... although our winters aren't very harsh. We get some snow and ice a few times ... but not weeks of freezing temps.

Well, nerves have set in. I've got three PBs I want to send to Tracey, but I have no desire to embarrass myself. :-D

Those are awesome pics. I love wisteria (although everytime I think or say the word, I hear Def Leppard -- back in the late 80's, I told a male friend to look at the wisteria and he started singing "The purple flower, it's wisteria" to the tune of Hysteria. Stuck. in. my. head. forever.)

Oh, I'm homesick. We had blueberry bushes in our backyard when I was a kid.

They smell so sweet right now I wish I could hang out in the back yard all day.

Did you get an email from me?

I don't think it worked ... sending again.

That wisteria is awesome.Always wanted some, but I'm never sure where to put it! I hear they can be very strong and tear-down-y... Butall the same. One of these years!!

You just have to be authoritative with them ... like a strict parent. "No, you may NOT climb across the roof and tear up the shingles."

Get one! They earn their keep for these few weeks a year.

The blueberries? Yes, I should post an updated photo ... they look more berryish now.

You can grow wisteria in the south, correct? That's where you are? Isn't Miami considered the south? I mean: the South?

Our dirt is choked with limestone. Not much grows here (except in pots). Yeah, south florida is the South (capital S.)...Just check out the sofas on the front porches of Homestead...
