Good news, Dad - now you don't have to read my book ...

… you can listen to it!

A few months ago, literaticat forwarded an email to me containing three auditions for the narrator of the FLASH BURNOUT audiobook.

ME! They let ME listen to auditions! Thank you, Audible.com/Brilliance!!!

So much is out of the author’s hands in the publishing business that I was delirious with joy at being asked for my opinion.

I listened to all three 5-minute auditions, and all of the actors were really talented.

But there was only one Blake, to my mind.

During that 5-minute reading, MacLeod Andrews somehow managed to make me laugh. At my own words! Words I know so well I could recite them in my sleep!

MacLeod was Blake. His tone and inflections matched the Blake voice in my head.

It was only after I fell in love with his reading that I found out he’s one of the narrators on the WILL GRAYSON, WILL GRAYSON audiobook. Extra-super-bonus-fun! He’s narrated quite a few other books, as well, including THE SPECTACULAR NOW, which I’ve been meaning to read for ages. I’m going to listen to it!

I was thrilled that MacLeod did, in fact, get the job. I’ve been looking forward to October ever since, when the audiobook was scheduled for release.

Then yesterday Kym Brunner (hi, Kym!) left me a Facebook message: “I'm listening to Flash Burnout as an audiobook and I ♥♥♥ it! Such a perfect novel - funny, sweet, emotional - and the audio narrator is fabulous to boot!”

Whazzuh?

I rushed to Audible.com, and there it was!

So if you’ve been meaning to read my book (Dad), but haven’t had time yet … now you can listen to it.

I can't wait to hear everything Blake has to say.
