Where in the world was L.K. Madigan?

Photobucket

My family and I spent spring break last week in the town where this cute little bookworm graces the library's sidewalk.

I'll post the location (and a longer vacation recap) in tomorrow's entry - hint: it's home to a national monument that took fourteen years and 400 men to build.

Any guesses?

Comment to win ... uh, the joy of being right. :-)

I was gonna guess Rushmore as well - only I thought it took even longer than 14 years. Then I remembered that it was Chief Crazy Horse who took so long!

Heh. I've been there and I didn't know that (and I don't remember that bookworm)!
