Authorial Intrusion - Aprilynne Pike

I’m delighted to introduce my fellow debut author, Aprilynne Pike, today on Authorial Intrusion.

Aprilynne Pike's WINGS is the first of four books about an ordinary girl named Laurel who discovers she is a faerie sent among humans to guard the gateway to Avalon. When Laurel is thrust into the midst of a centuries-old battle between faeries and trolls, she's torn between a human and a faerie love, as well as her loyalties to both worlds.

Aprilynne Pike has been spinning faerie stories since she was a child with a hyper-active imagination. At the age of twenty, she received her BA in Creative Writing from Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. When not writing, Aprilynne can usually be found at the gym; she also enjoys singing, acting, reading, and working with pregnant moms as a childbirth educator and doula. Aprilynne currently lives with her husband and three kids in Utah, and dreams of warmer climates.

Thai food or Chinese?
OMG I love them both, I can't choose!!! *waffles* Well, I can think of more specific Chinese dishes I love off the top of my head, so i guess I'll go with Chinese. :)

Advice for writers in 5 words or less.
While subbing, write another book.

What are you reading right now?
I just finished I Am Not A Serial Killer by Dan Wells and The Maze Runner by James Dashner. Apparently I am in a boy-book phase. However, these were both excellent.

I understand and read French pretty well, but I suck at speaking it. Does that count?

Ever wish you’d studied a different subject in college?
Nope. I tried that and it didn't work.

Do you use writing prompts?
No. I don't really like them.

Waitress at a dinner theatre. Fun!
