Those Printz people really know what they're doing

I just finished a book that made me stay up till eleven last night, and finally turn out the light reluctantly, because I knew I was looking at less than six hours of sleep by that time, and begrudge my day job because I wanted to read all morning, and give a silent cheer when lunch-time came, and bury myself in its pages while I ate, and sit transfixed at the counter, devouring the words long after I finished my sandwich, not looking up until the last page was read.

The Independent (a U.K. paper) says, “This has to be one of the most remarkable novels for children published in the last fifty years.”

I read tons and tons of novels, and you know what?

I have to agree.

Right now I’m going to walk down the hall and hand it to my friend, even though she doesn’t read YA novels, because it’s THAT GOOD. I know she will be as enthralled as I was.

Move this one to the top of your TBR pile, friends: The White Darkness.
